## Synopsis

Space Cobra (1982-1983) is a Japanese animated space opera series produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha and broadcast on Fuji TV. Its protagonist Cobra (voiced by Nachi Nozawa) is a former space pirate who alters his face and erases his memory to hide from enemies, only to recover his past and reunite with his old partner, the armaroid Lady (voiced by Yoshiko Sakakibara), and his ship Tortuga. Together they roam a sprawling galaxy, racing against the Pirate Guild and the law-enforcing Milky Way Patrol. The engine of each episode is a fresh clash of outlaw schemes, rescues and narrow escapes, with Dominique Royal (Gara Takashima) and the crew adding colour to the chase. Across a single season of thirty-one episodes, the series keeps a brisk, nostalgic pulp energy, with bright retro designs and a swashbuckling sense of freedom. Fans of Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999 and Cowboy Bebop will find resonance in its blend of anime space adventure and rogue-hero wandering. The show is an early shonen-style science fiction classic that rewards viewers who enjoy retro anime adventure.
