## Synopsis

Unsoul (2020-2022) is a Brazilian scripted mystery drama created by Ana Paula Maia and produced by Estúdios Globo for Globoplay. Set in the interior of southern Brazil, the story follows a community in the little town of Brígida, where a girl's disappearance in 1988 led to a ban on the pagan festivities of Ivana Kupala. Three decades later the town prepares to revive the celebration, and eerie events tied to a dangerous ritual of transmigration of souls begin to unsettle the residents. Cássia Kis plays Haia Lachovicz and Cláudia Abreu plays Ignes Skavronski, two women whose lives are bound to the old crime, while Maria Ribeiro, Ismael Caneppele and Bruce Gomlevsky carry the younger generation's search for answers. The engine is the slow unearthing of buried secrets, with each episode peeling back another layer of the families' pasts. Across two seasons of ten episodes each, the series moves between eras, blending ritual unease with the grounded texture of a close-knit community. Its mood is brooding, eerie and melancholic, with a slow, folkloric atmosphere. Fans of Twin Peaks and The Wicker Man will find resonance in its small town dread and ritual menace.
