## Synopsis

Night on Earth (2020) is a British nature documentary series created for Netflix, produced by Plimsoll Productions. Across a single six-episode season of roughly fifty minutes each, the programme follows the animals that come alive once the sun goes down, using new filming technology to show creatures that human eyes rarely see. Narrated by Samira Wiley, the series moves through varied landscapes to capture lions on the hunt and bats wheeling through the air, building its episodes around predator and prey behaviour and the quiet drama of survival in darkness. Each instalment works as a self-contained window onto a different corner of the natural world, so viewers can dip in and out without losing the thread. The tone is awe-filled and gentle, with patient observation that rewards close attention and leaves a sense of wonder at how much life unfolds unseen. Fans of Planet Earth II, Our Planet and Planet Earth will find the same polished natural history craft and reverent curiosity here, applied to the night. The result is a family-friendly, accessible limited series for anyone curious about wildlife and the hidden rhythms of the natural world.
