## Synopsis

Just Add Magic: Mystery City (2020) is an American family fantasy comedy series created by Andrew Orenstein for Prime Video, a spinoff of the Just Add Magic franchise. The story follows a magic cookbook that passes to three new protectors: step-siblings Zoe (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport) and Leo (Tyler Sanders), along with their downstairs neighbor Ish (Jenna Qureshi). Each young protagonist brings a different skill to the team, and together they pursue a race through the streets of Bay City as the cookbook unlocks a centuries-old mystery. The engine of each episode is the search for a secret recipe, with clues scattered across the city and rival forces pressing close behind. The season runs ten episodes of roughly twenty-seven minutes each, forming a single continuing adventure aimed squarely at younger viewers. Its tone is breezy, cheerful and wholesome, with light comedy and a sense of playful discovery that suits family viewing. Fans of Just Add Magic, The Mysterious Benedict Society and Gravity Falls will find a similar mix of kid sleuths, gentle magic and urban adventure. The series is a bright, accessible entry for families who enjoy magical mysteries.
