## Synopsis

Home Before Dark (2020-2021) is an American mystery drama series created by Dana Fox and Dara Resnik for Apple TV. Brooklynn Prince plays Hilde Lisko, a young investigative journalist who moves with her family to the small Washington State town her father left behind. Jim Sturgess plays her father Matt Lisko, whose return unsettles the community, and Abby Miller plays Bridget Jensen, a figure tied to the town's past. Hilde's engine is a stubborn pursuit of the truth: she chases local rumors and buried records, and each episode pushes her deeper into a criminal investigation that the adults around her would rather leave alone. The show runs for two seasons and twenty episodes, with its story building across the run rather than resetting each week. Its registers are suspenseful and atmospheric, with a teen-facing curiosity balanced against unease about what a small community hides. Set in a rain-soaked, quiet American town, it is built around family secrets, investigative reporting, and the way a child's determination can shake a place that prefers silence. Fans of Twin Peaks, Stranger Things, and Big Little Lies will find resonance in its small town dread, young protagonist, and layered mystery.
