## Synopsis

Rubí (2020) is a Univision telenovela created by Yolanda Vargas Dulché and Leonardo Padrón. Camila Sodi plays the title character, a determined young woman from a modest background whose ambitions pull her toward the wealthy Ochoa family, while José Ron plays Alejandro Cárdenas, the man caught in the middle of her romantic entanglements. Mayrín Villanueva plays Refugio Ochoa de Pérez, the matriarch whose household becomes the battleground for class resentment and rivalry. The engine of the series is a young woman's pursuit of love and a place among people who see her as an outsider, with each episode built around fresh confrontations, betrayals, and revelations that push her further into a web of family secrets. Presented as a single 26-episode season of 50-minute installments, it is a serialized melodrama in the classic telenovela tradition, filled with heightened emotion, dramatic reversals, and overwrought romance. Set in contemporary Mexico, it leans into sweeping tears, grand gestures, and class tension. Fans of Betty la fea and Cuidado con el ángel will find resonance in its blend of romance, rivalry, and soapy twists.
