## Synopsis

The Millionaire Detective - Balance: UNLIMITED (2020) is a Japanese animated crime mystery series produced with CloverWorks and Fuji Television, with voice performances by Yusuke Onuki as Daisuke Kanbe, Mamoru Miyano as Kato, and Maaya Sakamoto as Suzue Kambe. Its engine is an uneasy partnership between two detectives who disagree fundamentally about how much a human life is worth, and who must nonetheless work together to solve the most serious crimes in their city. The series unfolds across eleven roughly twenty-three-minute episodes forming a single self-contained season, with each case pushing the partners further into conflict over justice and sacrifice. Wealth, a loyal artificial butler-like companion, and sleek technology give the investigations a polished, high-stakes sheen, while the tone stays brooding and tragic with moments of camaraderie. Its atmosphere is urban and rain-cooled, with an emphasis on moral tension over spectacle. Fans of Psycho-Pass and Sherlock will find resonance in its stylish, morally pointed detective work and its tense, character-driven partnership. Viewers looking for a short, serious anime mystery with a bromance undercurrent will find it rewarding.
