## Synopsis

Inés of My Soul (2020) is a Spanish historical romance miniseries created by Paco Mateo for Prime Video. Elena Rivera plays Inés Suárez, a humble young woman from Extremadura who sails to the New World to find her husband, lost along with his dreams of glory. Instead of him she finds a passionate love with Pedro de Valdivia, Francisco Pizarro's Field Master, played by Eduardo Noriega. Around them, Benjamín Vicuña as Rodrigo de Quiroga, Carlos Bardem as Almagro, and Francesc Orella as Pizarro move through the rivalries, ambitions and violence of the conquest of Peru. The engine of the story is Inés's pull between duty, loyalty and desire in a frontier where every alliance can turn fatal. The eight episodes of this limited series unfold as one continuous narrative, each an hour long, built from court intrigue, military campaigns and intimate scenes. The tone is sweeping and romantic, with a melancholic undercurrent and a visceral sense of danger. Its sixteenth century setting of Peru and Spain is rendered with lush period detail. Fans of Isabel, Outlander and Reign will find resonance in its blend of historical spectacle and passionate romance.
