## Synopsis

Reckoning (2019) is an American limited series created for AXN, a ten-episode crime drama in the tradition of the suburban mystery. Set in a quiet, suburban Northern California town, the story follows the murder of a teenager and the hunt for a serial killer that drags the community into suspicion. Aden Young plays Mike Serrato and Sam Trammell plays Leo Doyle, two fathers whose grief and anger set them on a course of mutual destruction. Simone Kessell as Paige Serrato and Laura Gordon as Candace Doyle anchor the households around them, while Paula Arundell plays Sheriff Waller, whose investigation keeps pressure on every family. Each episode moves through the investigation's dead ends, the neighbors' whispers, and the private decisions that escalate into violence. The engine is simple and relentless: what a parent will do when the law feels too slow. The tone is bleak, tense and claustrophobic, with a quiet, measured pace that lets dread accumulate behind ordinary domestic routines. Viewers who enjoyed the slow burn of The Killing, the community unraveling of Broadchurch, or the domestic menace of Big Little Lies will find its atmosphere familiar. It stands as a complete, self-contained story told across a single season.
