## Synopsis

Schmigadoon! (2021-2023) is a United States musical comedy series created by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul for Apple TV. Across two seasons and twelve half-hour episodes, struggling couple Josh Skinner (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa Gimble (Cecily Strong) find their strained marriage pulled into a magical town where every village ritual and every argument breaks into song. The engine is a quest: the pair must complete a mission set by the town's eccentric mayor Aloysius Menlove (Alan Cumming) before they can leave, and each episode stages a new pastiche of a classic stage musical, with choreography and costumes borrowed from mid-century Broadway. Reverend Howard Layton (Fred Armisen) and his wife Mildred (Kristin Chenoweth) bring their own wounded romance into the orbit, while Dove Cameron, Aaron Tveit, Jaime Camil and Ariana DeBose round out the cast of townsfolk and outsiders. The tone is warm, witty and cheerfully sincere, a loving parody that mocks musical conventions while still believing in their emotional power. Fans of Galavant, Pushing Daisies and Enchanted will find resonance in its whimsical blend of satire, romance and song. The show is a low-stakes, easy-to-watch comedy with a playful, self-aware heart.
