## Synopsis

Afsos (2020) is a Hindi-language Indian black comedy thriller miniseries created for Prime Video. Across eight short episodes of roughly 27 minutes each, Gulshan Devaiah plays Nakul, a man so weary of living after several failed suicide attempts that he pays for his own death. Heeba Shah plays Upadhyay, a deadly assassin assigned to carry out the job, who never leaves a task unfinished. When Nakul has a change of heart and decides he wants to live, the killer pursues him anyway, and the result is a riveting cat and mouse chase across an urban Indian city. Anjali Patil plays Shloka, and Aakash Dahiya plays Inspector Bir Singh, whose investigations add pressure to the hunt. A divine intervention upends everything, and the story keeps shifting under the characters. The tone is dark and absurd, with morbid humor sitting beside real anxiety about mortality, while the pacing stays brisk and tense. Fans of In Bruges and Burn After Reading will find resonance in its bleak comedy, and the mood suits viewers who enjoy offbeat thrillers with a sharp edge.
