## Synopsis

Memorist (2020) is a South Korean supernatural crime mystery series created by Kim whee for tvN, a single-season run of sixteen one-hour episodes. Yoo Seung-ho plays Dong-baek, a high school student who suddenly gains the power to read people's memories with a single touch, and Lee Se-young plays Han Sun-mi, a detective whose work intersects with his. Other principal figures include Cho Seong-ha as Lee Shin-woong, a police officer caught in the department's compromised ranks. The engine of the series is simple and gripping: each case hinges on what a suspect has seen, and every touch risks exposing Dong-baek's secret while the investigations drift toward officers who are not what they seem. Episodes are built around crimes that unfold through fragmented memories, with the procedural rhythm of a police drama giving way to a dark, character-driven mystery. Set in contemporary South Korea, the show moves through urban streets, station offices and quiet, tense interiors. Its tone blends suspense with a bruised, sincere melancholy and an undercurrent of unease about institutions. Adapted from a webtoon and carrying the polished, genre-fluent energy of a tvN production, it will appeal to viewers who enjoy Signal, The Mentalist and Mindhunter, and to anyone drawn to k-drama mysteries with a supernatural hook.
