## Synopsis

Feel Good (2020-2021) is a British semi-autobiographical comedy-drama series created by Mae Martin and Joe Hampson for Channel 4 and Netflix. Mae Martin (Mae) plays a recovering addict and stand-up comedian who tries to control the compulsive habits and intense romanticism running through every part of their life. The engine of the show is the tension between sobriety and desire: Mae wants stability and self-respect, but a new, all-consuming relationship with George (Charlotte Ritchie) keeps pulling them toward old patterns. Supporting characters include Phil (Phil Burgers), Mae's loyal friend, and Mae's family and comedy-world acquaintances, including Maggie (Sophie Thompson) and David (Ramon Tikaram). Each short episode of roughly twenty-five minutes blends sharp, deadpan confessional asides with awkward social scenes, stand-up culture, and tender moments. Across two seasons of six episodes each, the story stays a single continuing arc with a strong emotional throughline. The tone is wry, intimate and frank, with a sincere heart beneath its irreverence, and the series deals openly with queer identity and recovery. Fans of Fleabag, Lovesick and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will find resonance in its mix of cringe-inducing honesty, romantic longing and dry British wit.
