## Synopsis

Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare (2018-2024) is an Indian Hindi-language comedy series created by Zakir Khan for Prime Video. Zakir Khan stars as Ronny, a jobless 26-year-old who lets everyone believe he is the nephew of a local MLA, a role he enjoys far too much. At home he is an irresponsible young man his family despairs over, and the show's engine is the constant pressure of keeping his big lie intact as it drags him into one awkward situation after another. Pritha Bakshi plays Shanoo, Alka Amin plays Amrita, and Zakir Hussain plays Rajesh, with the supporting cast giving the household and neighbourhood scenes their texture. Each 29-minute episode is a self-contained comic complication, while the larger arc of the lie carries across three seasons and 24 episodes. The tone is breezy, sardonic and warm, with satire of small-town political clout and the everyday chaos of a middle-class Indian household. Fans of Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother will find resonance in its ensemble family humor and its charming, self-deluded protagonist.
