## Synopsis

Bloodride (2020) is a Norwegian horror miniseries created by Kjetil Indregard and Atle Knudsen for Netflix. Its premise is simple and unsettling: a group of strangers finds themselves aboard a spectral bus that is carrying them toward a gruesome, unknown destination. Cast members Synnøve Macody Lund as Annelise, Ine Marie Wilmann as Molly, Erlend Rødal Vikhagen as Erik, and Benjamin Helstad as Otto anchor the ensemble, with Dagny Backer Johnsen, Henrik Rafaelsen, Simen Bostad, Stig R. Amdam, Numa Edema Norderhaug and Anna Bache-Wiig rounding out the passengers. The engine of the story is the slow realization that the passengers cannot leave, and each of the six short episodes peels back a little more about who they are and why they are on this journey. The result is a brief, self-contained run of grim atmosphere and escalating dread, staged in the cold, ordinary surroundings of a modern Scandinavian landscape. The tone is macabre and eerie, with a dark streak of gallows humor that keeps the unease from becoming monotonous. Shape and scale are compact: a single season of six episodes, each around thirty-one minutes long. Fans of Black Mirror, The Twilight Zone and Hunted will find resonance in its bleak, uncanny tone and its interest in ordinary people trapped inside a supernatural machine.
