## Synopsis

Moriarty the Patriot (2020-2021) is a Japanese anime mystery series produced by Production I.G and Studio Don Juan and broadcast on TOKYO MX. Set in the late nineteenth century British Empire, it follows the brilliant William James Moriarty (voice of Soma Saito), who is frustrated by an aristocracy that keeps its working class suffering. Rather than accept the injustice, Moriarty builds a criminal strategy aimed at reshaping the entire nation, and his plans lead him into direct conflict with the detective Sherlock Holmes (voice of Makoto Furukawa). Moriarty's younger brothers Albert (Takuya Sato) and Louis (Chiaki Kobayashi) orbit his ambitions, adding family loyalty and tension to the scheming. The single season runs twenty-four episodes and unfolds as a serialized, tightly plotted crime saga in which each move is a step toward revolution. Its mood is brooding and intellectual, with tragedy and bromance shading the rivalries between brilliant men. Fans of Sherlock, Code Geass and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its clever villainy and its portrait of a class-divided world. The show is adapted from a manga and rooted in Victorian aesthetics and political unrest.
