## Synopsis

Summertime (2020-2022) is an Italian romance drama series created by Mirko Cetrangolo and Anita Rivaroli for Netflix. Ale (Ludovico Tersigni) and Summer (Coco Rebecca Edogamhe) are drawn together by an undeniable attraction despite coming from very different worlds, and the story follows how their holidays on Italy's Adriatic coast pull them far from the people they were before they met. The supporting cast includes Amanda Campana as Sofia, Andrea Lattanzi as Dario, and Thony as Isabella, whose friendships and rivalries orbit the central pair. Each season is built around a fresh stretch of summer, with beach parties, shared houses, and the restless energy of young people testing what they want from love and from each other. The engine is the pull between desire and the social expectations that keep the two apart, played out in sun-bleached settings and late nights. The tone is sensual, sentimental and bittersweet, with a warm melancholy that lingers after each sunset. Fans of Elite, Skam Italia and The O.C. will find resonance in its glossy youthful romance and its portrait of teenagers and young adults learning how their choices follow them home. Across three seasons the series stays a steady, romance-led drama that rewards viewers who enjoy emotional, summery love stories.
