## Synopsis

Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom (2020) is a British stop motion animated comedy series created by Richard Starzak, Alison Snowden and David Fine for Netflix, produced by Aardman. Clever sheep Shaun leads the Mossy Bottom flock alongside his loyal dog Bitzer and the rest of the farm gang, and each short episode of roughly thirteen minutes is built from the small schemes, mishaps and rivalries that bubble up when the animals try to have a good time on the farm. The engine is simple: Shaun wants fun and mischief, and the everyday routines of the farm keep getting in the way. Most of the comedy is physical and wordless, with expressive gestures carrying the jokes. The series runs as one twenty-episode season of self-contained stories, so episodes can be watched in any order. The tone is cheerful, warm and gently silly, with a sense of tactile handmade charm in the clay-like animation. Fans of Wallace and Gromit: A Grand Day Out, Timmy Time and Pingu will find the same kind of gentle, wordless family comedy and handcrafted stop motion appeal.
