## Synopsis

Outer Banks (2020-2026) is an American teen adventure drama created by Josh Pate, Shannon Burke and Jonas Pate for Netflix. Set on a North Carolina barrier island divided between wealthy haves and working-class have-nots, the series follows John B. Routledge (Chase Stokes) and his tight-knit crew of friends, the Pogues, as they dive, surf and sail while chasing a legendary lost gold treasure. Chase Stokes anchors the group alongside Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey as Kiara Carrera, Jonathan Daviss as Pope Heyward and Rudy Pankow as JJ Maybank, while Drew Starkey plays Rafe Cameron, whose privileged family stands in their way. Each season is built around new clues, rival treasure hunters, boat chases and run-ins with the law, with romance and loyalty woven through the danger. The show runs five seasons of ten episodes each, a serialized mystery with a case-by-case clue structure. Its tone is breezy and sun-washed, with a summer adventure energy and an undercurrent of class resentment. Fans of The Goonies and Riverdale will find a similar mix of teen camaraderie, coastal mystery and a shadowed sense of what a town owes its outsiders.
