## Synopsis

The Unacceptable (Οι Απαράδεκτοι, 1991-1993) is a Greek comedy series created by Dimitra Papadopoulou for Mega TV. Its cast plays exaggerated versions of themselves, with Dimitra Papadopoulou, Spiros Papadopoulos (Spiros Papadopoulos), Vlassis Bonatsos (Vlassis), Giannis Bezos (Giannis), Renia Louizidou (Astropeleki) and Vasilis Halakatevakis (Vasilis) at the center of its loosely connected half hour episodes. The series is less a plot-driven story than a portrait of the daily life of Athenians, following friends as they bump into the small irritations, romantic misfires and social awkwardness of ordinary city living. Its engine is observational: the comedy comes from the gap between how the characters present themselves and how they actually behave in the streets, cafes and homes of the capital. The series runs for two seasons and forty eight episodes, produced by Studio ATA. Its comedy is loose, conversational and self-deprecating, with a warm, nostalgic texture that captures the look and mood of early nineties Athens. Viewers who enjoy ensemble observational humor in the vein of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, or the friendship based everyday comedy of Friends, will find resonance here.
