## Synopsis

Never Have I Ever (2020-2023) is a US Netflix teen comedy-drama series created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan plays Devi Vishwakumar, a fiercely ambitious Indian-American sophomore who wants to escape her reputation as a pariah after a traumatic year that left her father dead and her world in pieces. Her mother, Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar (Poorna Jagannathan), pushes her toward academic success while struggling with her own grief, and Devi's pursuit of popularity runs through rivalries and crushes with Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet) and Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison). Each episode is built from school dances, friendship fallouts, awkward confessions and family dinners, with Devi often narrating directly to the camera. The series runs four seasons of ten episodes each, a light, sincere coming-of-age show that balances sharp teen humor with real emotional weight. Its warm, witty, slightly wistful register sits in the company of Freaks and Geeks and Sex Education, appealing to viewers who enjoy high school stories that take feelings seriously. The result is a lively, heartfelt portrait of adolescence, friendship and family in an American suburban high school.
