## Synopsis

The Least Expected Day: Inside the Movistar Team 2019 (2020-present) is a Spanish sports docuseries created for Netflix and Movistar Plus. Following the Movistar professional cycling team across five seasons and twenty-three episodes of roughly thirty minutes each, it trails riders including Nairo Quintana, Mikel Landa, Richard Carapaz and Alejandro Valverde as they chase race victories on the road. The engine of the series is the grind of stage racing itself: the tactical planning, the pressure of major tours, and the friction that builds inside the team when individual ambitions collide with collective goals. Each season follows the squad through a racing calendar, with cameras capturing the lead-up to races, the tension in the team car, and the controversies that surface along the way. Shot with intimate access in the manner of a sports documentary, the series balances adrenaline during the racing with quieter moments of doubt and camaraderie. Its tone is candid and tense, with a reflective edge about pressure and ambition. Viewers who enjoy behind-the-scenes sports access in the vein of Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Tour de France: Unchained will find much to appreciate here, and it suits anyone drawn to the psychology of elite athletes.
