## Synopsis

Felix the Cat (1958-1961) is an American animated comedy series broadcast on ABC, a classic early television cartoon built from short episodes of roughly eight minutes each. Its title character is Felix, a curious and scheming black cat whose offbeat adventures are the engine of every installment, with Jack Mercer voicing Felix along with the professor and the rock bottom characters. Each episode turns on a new mischief or scheme, with quick gags, slapstick physical comedy and playful schemes that resolve before the short runs out. Across three seasons and roughly 132 episodes, the series keeps a light, whimsical and nostalgic tone that suits young children and families. Felix was quickly overshadowed by Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse, yet remains a beloved piece of mid century American animation history. Its gentle, self-contained structure makes it an easy watch for viewers who enjoy early cartoons, and fans of Tom and Jerry and The Pink Panther Show will find a kindred spirit in its cheerful slapstick and cat-and-mouse style of comic mischief.
