## Synopsis

Quiz (2020) is a British three-part limited series created for ITV1 that dramatizes the real-life scandal around Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Matthew Macfadyen plays former army major Charles Ingram, who is caught on camera cheating his way to a million pounds, while Sian Clifford plays his wife Diana, who stands beside him through the on-air heist and the trial that follows. Mark Bonnar and Helen McCrory bring the legal and investigative machinery to life, and Michael Sheen appears as the show's host Chris Tarrant, a quietly watchful presence at the center of the broadcast. Each episode moves between the glossy, lit-up studio and the cramped worlds of the ordinary people caught inside the scandal, building a slow, nervy suspense out of small gestures, whispered signals and the question of whether anyone will notice. Set in early 2000s Britain, the series has a wry, sharp tone that mixes true crime tension with a sly appreciation for how fame and public judgment reshape a life. Viewers who enjoyed the courtroom anatomy of The Trial of Christine Keeler or the public fallout of Mr. Bates vs The Post Office will find a similar blend of national scandal and tense character study here.
