## Synopsis

Parliament (2020-2025) is a French national-television political comedy series created by Noé Debré for France TV Slash and France.tv. Xavier Lacaille plays Samy Kantor, a young parliamentary assistant who arrives in Brussels after the Brexit referendum with little grasp of European institutions and a plan to get by on his wits. Around him, Liz Kingsman plays Rose Pilkington, Philippe Duquesne plays Michel Specklin, and Lucas Englander plays Torsten Muckenstrum, a cast of colleagues and rivals whose own agendas keep complicating his bluffing. The engine is simple: every committee vote, procedural deadline and diplomatic meeting becomes another chance for Samy to be exposed or to talk his way out. Told across four seasons of ten roughly twenty-five-minute episodes each, it is one continuing workplace story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Set in present-day Brussels and Strasbourg, it moves between offices, corridors and parliamentary chambers with a brisk, deadpan rhythm. Its tone is sardonic and irreverent, with the satire aimed squarely at bureaucracy and nationalist posturing. Fans of The Thick of It, Yes Minister and The Office will find resonance in its farce of incompetence wrapped in institutional procedure.
