## Synopsis

The Circle France (2020) is a French reality competition series created for Netflix, a single-season limited series of twelve roughly fifty-minute episodes that was later canceled. Contestants including Ines Tazi, Cédric Doumbé, Gary Jarny, Maxime Merkouchenko and Romain Benn play as Self, rarely meeting face to face and instead communicating through an online platform where each player chooses a profile to present to the others. The engine of the game is simple but cunning: players must flirt, befriend and sometimes catfish their rivals, earning votes and climbing toward a prize of 100,000 euros. Each episode unfolds as a sequence of chats, strategic confessions and social maneuvering, with a narrator, Alfred Gerbet, guiding viewers through the shifting alliances. The tone is playful and sharp, mixing giddy social manipulation with the suspicion that anyone online may be hiding a different face. Fans of Big Brother, Survivor and Catfish will find resonance in its blend of strategy, deception and digital intimacy, and the format rewards viewers who enjoy reading character and motive through screens.
