## Synopsis

Peace! Friendship! Chewing gum! (2020-2023) is a Russian scripted coming of age drama and comedy series created for Premier, set in 1993 and running three seasons across twenty-four episodes of about forty-five minutes each before its cancellation. Fourteen-year-old Alex Ryabinin (Egor Gubarev) lives a restless teenage life, dodging neighborhood hooligans, fumbling with girls and music, and searching for role models. On one side is his honest but struggling family, with a saleswoman mother and a father who works as a docent; on the other is the dangerous orbit of Afghan war veteran Uncle Alik (Yura Borisov). Alex's encounter with the girl Zhenya (Valentina Lyapina) sets off a chain of events after he flees hooligans by stealing a car belonging to a local criminal authority. Each episode is built from small everyday trouble, schoolyard friendships, family strain and street menace, while a larger underworld tightens around him. The show blends rough humor with melancholy and wistful nostalgia, capturing the chaotic texture of early post soviet Russia. Fans of Stranger Things, The Wonder Years and Brigada will find resonance in its mix of youthful wonder, criminal danger and period atmosphere. Its tone is cheeky yet bruised, with a strong sense of a generation coming of age amid economic collapse and lost certainties.
