## Synopsis

Grant (2020) is a American historical docudrama miniseries created for History. Adapted from Ron Chernow's biography, this three-episode limited series follows Ulysses S. Grant, played by Justin Salinger, as he moves through the American Civil War and the turbulent years of Reconstruction. Salinger anchors dramatized reenactments that place Grant among Abraham Lincoln (Carel Nel), General Sherman (Jason K. Ralph) and Robert E. Lee (Brian Heydenrych), while historian commentators supply context between scenes. Each episode runs about 80 minutes and is built from a mix of staged battlefield and political sequences and expert analysis, so viewers get both the human texture of a commander's decisions and the broader stakes of a fractured nation. The tone is sober and reflective, treating war, ambition and the struggle over what the country would become with measured seriousness rather than spectacle. Set in mid nineteenth century America, the miniseries suits viewers who enjoy prestige history and character-driven accounts of the civil war era. Fans of Lincoln, The Civil War and John Adams will find resonance in its blend of reenactment, biography and national reckoning.
