## Synopsis

Iwa Kakeru! Sport Climbing Girls (2020-2020) is a Japanese animated slice of life sports series created for television by a consortium of Japanese broadcasters, with production by BLADE, Lantis, ABC Animation, AT-X and Cygames. Konomi Kasahara (voiced by Sumire Uesaka) is a high school student who loves puzzles and, when she discovers her school's climbing wall, sees it as a colorful puzzle to solve. Her energy drives the series as she joins the Hanamiya Girls' High School Climbing Club alongside teammates including Jun Uehara (Yui Ishikawa) and Sayo Yotsuba (Aina Suzuki), voiced by a cast that rounds out the club. The engine is simple and sincere: each episode follows the girls training, learning technique and facing competition as they race for the top of the wall. Across a single twelve-episode season, the show balances the physical effort of climbing with the mental strategy that makes the sport so absorbing. Its tone is bright, earnest and warm, with a focus on friendship and teamwork rather than darkness. Set in contemporary Japan at a high school with a climbing wall, it carries the gentle everyday rhythm of slice of life anime. Fans of Haikyu!!, Chihayafuru and Yuru Camp will find a similar blend of youthful striving, club camaraderie and sporting ambition.
