## Synopsis

Ancient Love Poetry (2021) is a Chinese xianxia fantasy romance series created by Xing Ling and released on Tencent Video. Across forty-nine episodes of roughly forty-five minutes each, it follows Shang Gu (Zhou Dongyu), who grows from an inexperienced mortal into a powerful immortal, and Bai Jue (Xu Kai), one of the four true gods, who has loved her for an immense span of time. Their bond is tested by the demands of an immortal realm and the many challenges that stand between a mortal woman and a god who is willing to give up everything to be with her. Liu Xueyi, Li Zefeng and Luo Qiuyun also appear in principal roles. The series unfolds as one continuous story built around long waiting, personal growth and sacrifice rather than standalone episodes. Its register is romantic and melancholic, with a sweeping sense of time and a cold man, warm woman dynamic at its heart. Drawing on Chinese mythology and adapted from a novel, it sits comfortably beside Eternal Love and Love Between Fairy and Devil for viewers who want immortal romance with emotional weight.
