## Synopsis

Football Dreams (2013-2015) is a Colombian sports drama series created for Caracol TV and TVN, a two-season run totaling 147 episodes. Its premise follows the eventful lives of four emblematic players of the Colombian National Team: Carlos Valderrama, Freddy Rincón, René Higuita and Faustino Asprilla. Omar Murillo plays Faustino "El Tino" Asprilla, John Alex Castillo plays René Higuita, Édgar Vittorino plays Carlos "El Pibe" Valderrama, and Antonio Jiménez plays Freddy Rincón. Ramsés Ramos appears as coach Francisco Maturana, and Tatiana Arango and Yeimy Paola Vargas play figures in the players' personal orbits. The engine of the show is the tension between athletic ambition and the pressures of fame, as each player chases glory on the pitch while navigating romance, rivalry and the demands of a nation that expects everything from its team. Episodes are built around matches, training camps, and off-field episodes that move the stories forward across both seasons. The show is a dramatized sports biography with a comedic streak, the tone warm and nostalgic while keeping the stakes emotional. Set in Colombia during the era of the national side's rise, it has the feel of a national celebration of its footballing heroes. Fans of Maradona: Blessed Dream, Senna and Mi Corazón es Tuyo will find resonance here.
