## Synopsis

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (2020-2022) is a Japanese animated shonen fantasy series produced by Sunrise and aired on Nippon TV and affiliated stations. Its story follows half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna, who are split apart in a forest fire in feudal Japan. Towa is raised in present-day Japan after a mysterious tunnel carries her forward in time, and years later the tunnel reopens to bring her back to the past. Towa (voiced by Sara Matsumoto) searches for her sister Setsuna (voiced by Mikako Komatsu), who now works as a demon slayer for Kohaku (voiced by Ryohei Kimura) and no longer remembers her. Other principal voices include Azusa Tadokoro as Moroha and Maaya Sakamoto as Zero. The series runs for one 48-episode season of roughly 24-minute episodes, mixing serialized quest arcs with fights against youkai. Its engine is the ache of a sister trying to reclaim a bond that has been erased while navigating a dangerous world of demons and rival warriors. The tone blends adventure, warm family longing, and action set against the shifting landscapes of feudal and modern Japan. Fans of Inuyasha and other time-crossing youkai action series will find resonance here, as will viewers drawn to sibling reunion stories.
