## Synopsis

Blood & Water (2020-2024) is a South African teen drama series created by Nosipho Dumisa-Ngoasheng, Daryne Joshua and Travis Taute for Netflix. Puleng Khumalo (Ama Qamata), a Cape Town teenager, meets a private-school swimming star and sets out to determine whether she is the sister abducted at birth. Fikile Bhele (Khosi Ngema) and Wade Daniels (Dillon Windvogel) round out the principal cast, while Thandeka Khumalo (Gail Mabalane) anchors the family side of the story. The engine of the series is a steady stream of covert digging, friendship strains, romantic entanglements and secrets kept inside elite school walls, with each episode layering another revelation over the question of identity. Across four seasons and twenty-five episodes, the story stays one continuing thread, moving through the glossy social world of an exclusive Cape Town school and the township life that Puleng carries with her. The tone blends glossy teen soap energy with emotional stakes around class, family and loyalty. Fans of Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars and Skins will find resonance in its mix of secrets, romance and high school intrigue, grounded in a distinctly South African setting.
