## Synopsis

Gameboys (2020-2022) is a Philippine romantic comedy-drama web series created by Jun Robles Lana and released on YouTube. Teenage streamer Cairo (Elijah Canlas) is a reserved young man who keeps the world at arm's length, until a video call from an online rival named Gavreel (Kokoy de Santos) jolts his routine. Gavreel, who runs his family's rental properties, is charmed enough to pursue him openly, and their rivalry-tinged courtship plays out through streams, chats, and calls while the pandemic keeps everyone at home. Supporting roles from Pearl Gatdula (Adrianna So), Terrence Carreon (Kyle Velino), and Wesley Torres (Miggy Jimenez) bring friendship, family pressure, and meddling exes into the mix. Told across two seasons and twenty-two short episodes, the show favors everyday small talk, gaming sessions, and intimate confessions over spectacle. Its mood is warm, earnest, and comforting, with a bittersweet undertow about emotional trauma and the walls people build. Fans of Heartstopper, Love, Victor, and the screenlife drama Searching will find a similar pull toward tender, online-first love stories.
