## Synopsis

The Great Heist (2020) is a Colombian crime drama limited series created by C.S. Prince and Pablo González for Netflix. Dramatizing the real 1994 robbery of US$33 million from Colombia's central bank, it follows a ragtag crew of criminals led by Chayo (Andrés Parra) and Molina (Christian Tappan), with El Dragón (Waldo Urrego) and Doña K (Marcela Benjumea) among the schemers who plot the theft. Against them stands Teniente Jorge Luis Monroy (Juan Pablo Barragán), an investigator closing in as the operation grows more fragile. Across six episodes of roughly forty-eight minutes each, the series builds its tension from the logistics of the job, the improvised decisions of a crew that trusts no one, and the pressure of a national scandal. Its tone is gritty and propulsive, with a heavy atmosphere of corruption and street-level hustle in 1990s Colombia. Fans of Money Heist, Narcos and Ocean's Eleven will find resonance in its blend of true-events crime drama, Latin American setting and heist choreography. The series is a Spanish-language Netflix production that treats its historical robbery as a story about ambition and institutional failure.
