## Synopsis

Life: Love on the Line (2020) is a Japanese boys love romance drama series created by Tokokura Miya and released on Rakuten TV. Two young men, Akira Ito (Jin Shirasu) and Yuuki Nishi (Raiku), meet by chance when both try to walk the white line along a city sidewalk, and their attraction grows as they decide to walk side by side. Honoka Shiraishi (Fujiko Kojima) and the Ito family, including Hitomi Ito (Shiori Doi), Takako Ito (Nao Osada) and Shigeaki Ito (Meguri Hiroo), surround the central pair with the complications of family expectations and divided loyalties. The engine of the series is the tension between feelings that never fade and a present where careers, relationships and social obligations keep shifting. Each of its four short episodes is built around quiet encounters, memories and the awkward distance between what people say and what they feel. Told in a gentle, wistful and melancholic register, with a restrained, intimate look at contemporary Japanese life, it offers an angsty, slow-burning romance. Its time skips move between youth and adulthood. Fans of Bad Buddy, Sweet Blue Flowers and Blue Period will find resonance in its tender, emotionally honest portrait of first love and personal growth.
