## Synopsis

Hello, Stranger (2020) is a Philippine web romance miniseries created for Facebook, YouTube and GagaOOLala, produced by Black Sheep. Mico (JC Alcantara), a sharp, nerdy university freshman with a tight circle of friends and a demanding mother, finds his quiet online quiz night upended when Xavier (Tony Labrusca), a popular basketball player with a girlfriend and a carefree attitude, joins and insults him and his friends. What begins as open hostility gradually becomes a tutoring arrangement, and the sparring turns into something neither of them expected. Friends Crystal (Gillian Vicencio), Kookai (Vivoree Esclito), Seph (Patrick Quiroz) and Junjun (Migs Almendras) keep the story grounded in everyday campus life, while Miss Tina (Meanne Espinosa) adds warmth around the edges. Told in eight short episodes of about fifteen minutes each, the series builds its engine from banter, awkward silences, and the pull of feelings that cannot be ignored. Its mood is sweet, wistful and intimate, shaped by the isolation of pandemic lockdown and the way social media connects people who might never meet otherwise. Fans of Heartstopper, Love, Victor and Sex Education will find resonance in its gentle queer coming-of-age romance and its warmth toward young people finding themselves.
