## Synopsis

The Vampires of Midland (2021-2026) is a Russian scripted supernatural comedy created by Alexey Akimov for START. Grandpa Slava (Yuriy Stoyanov), the eldest of the Midland vampire family, leads a household that lives quietly, follows the law, and never kills humans, even though everyone around them knows they drink blood. Ирина Витальевна (Tatyana Dogileva) and Жан Иванович (Artyom Tkachenko) anchor the family's daily routines, while Ольга Анваровна (Olga Medynich) and Сергей Барановский (Dmitry Chebotarev) bring the neighborhood tensions into view. The engine of the show is the struggle to keep an unremarkable provincial life intact when lifeless corpses are discovered in a birch grove near Smolensk and the family's peace begins to crack. Each episode mixes deadpan domestic humor with a steady mystery thread that builds across three seasons and twenty-six episodes. Set in contemporary Russia, the series has a wry, cozy, slightly melancholic texture, examining coexistence, secrecy, and the absurdity of ordinary routines. Fans of What We Do in the Shadows and Supernatural will find a similar blend of supernatural premise and dry, character-driven humor.
