## Synopsis

Somebody Somewhere (2022-2024) is an American comedy-drama series created by Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen for HBO. Bridget Everett plays Sam Miller, a Kansas woman in her forties who has returned to her hometown after the death of her sister and feels she never fits the local mold. Her closest allies include Jeff Hiller as Joel, a gay choir director and her unlikely friend, and Murray Hill as Fred Rococo, a warm presence in her new circle. Mary Catherine Garrison plays her sister Tricia, whose presence keeps old wounds raw. Sam's engine is a search for belonging: she stumbles into a community choir of outsiders in a town that does not quite know what to do with them, and singing becomes the way she begins to reckon with loss and herself. Each of the three seasons, seven episodes of roughly half an hour, moves through everyday small town rhythms, awkward gatherings and honest conversations rather than case plots, and the story builds as one continuing arc. The series is a quietly funny, tender portrait of midlife grief and queer community with a Duplass Brothers production sensibility, a warm, lived in tone and an unhurried pace. Viewers who love Shrinking, Schitt's Creek and Fleabag will find the same mix of humor and heartbreak here.
