## Synopsis

Old Enough! (1991-present) is a Japanese reality series produced by Nippon Television Network Corporation and created by Atsushi Ouchi, airing on Nippon TV and YTV. Each episode follows a young child sent out to complete a small errand entirely alone for the very first time, such as buying groceries or a household item at a local shop, while a camera crew trails at a discreet distance. The engine of the show is simple: the child's nervousness, the unfamiliar streets, the stranger at the register, and the quiet determination to finish the task. Across fourteen seasons and roughly a hundred episodes of twenty minutes each, the format stays consistent, with each segment building toward a small personal victory. Scenes unfold in ordinary Japanese neighborhoods, shops, and streets, giving the show a grounded, observational texture. The tone is gentle, warm, and affectionate, with a hopeful, feel good atmosphere that appeals to families. Fans of Kids Say the Darndest Things and other observational family reality programming will find a similar charm in its unscripted honesty.
