## Synopsis

Star Trek: Prodigy (2021-2024) is an American animated science fiction series created by Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman for Netflix and Paramount+. Its protagonist Dal (Brett Gray) leads a motley group of young rebellious aliens, including Gwyn (Ella Purnell), Zero (Angus Imrie) and Jankom Pog (Jason Mantzoukas), who commandeer an aging Starfleet starship they know nothing about. Their engine is simple and effective: they must learn to work together while navigating a vast galaxy, and each episode drops them into a new discovery or scrape that tests their trust in one another. Kate Mulgrew voices Captain Kathryn Janeway, whose presence ties the younger crew to the wider franchise. The show runs as a two-season, 39-episode serialized adventure in which a larger arc about the crew's growing understanding of Starfleet unfolds across standalone outings. The tone is bright, hopeful and gently funny, with a kid-friendly sense of wonder that rewards longtime fans who enjoy the franchise's ideals of exploration and cooperation. Fans of Star Trek: Lower Decks, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Futurama will find resonance in its warm animated space adventure, its ensemble of misfits, and its earnest optimism.
