## Synopsis

A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality (2020-present) is a Chinese donghua xianxia series broadcast on bilibili and rated TV-14. Its protagonist is Han Li, a poor village boy voiced by Qian Wenqing, who joins a minor sect in the martial world of Jiang Hu as an Unofficial Disciple by chance. Supporting voice roles include Ireine Song as Han Yun Zhi, Li Shimeng as Nangong Wan, and Xu Jiaqi as Dong Xuaner. The engine of the series is Han Li's struggle to carve out a foothold among sect members who regard him as a commoner, while his mediocre aptitude forces him to navigate a dangerous cultivation path and avoid those who wish him harm. Each episode mixes sect politics, training setbacks, and combat with demons and ancient celestials. The story is a single continuing arc across its 209 episodes, unfolding as one long serialized adventure rather than standalone stories. Its wuxia and gufeng roots give it a stately, earnest register, with action sequences and a steady current of perseverance and ambition. Set in a mythic Chinese martial realm of cultivation sects and immortal ambitions, it is built for viewers who enjoy underdog endurance and sweeping fantasy. Fans of Battle Through the Heavens and Soul Land will find resonance here, along with those who appreciate the underdog arc of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
