## Synopsis

The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022) is a four-episode American fantasy miniseries created by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. Set more than a thousand years before the events of The Witcher, it follows seven outcasts in the elven world who unite in a blood quest against an unstoppable power. Eile, also known as The Lark, is played by Sophia Brown, with Laurence O'Fuarain as Fjall, Mirren Mack as Merwyn, and Lenny Henry as Chief Sage Balor among the principal cast. Jacob Collins-Levy plays Eredin. The engine of the series is the uneasy alliance of misfits gathering their strength and pursuing a dangerous mission across a mythic landscape, with each episode built around fights, travel, and shifting loyalties. Told as a single self-contained arc, it is a limited series that offers sword and sorcery action in the vein of the parent saga, alongside the grand scale of Game of Thrones and The Rings of Power. Its tone is dark, gritty, and adventurous, with an emphasis on bloody combat and the cost of old prophecies. Fans of The Witcher, Game of Thrones and The Rings of Power will find resonance in its blend of myth, battle, and fellowship.
