## Synopsis

La Fortuna (2021) is a Spanish limited series created by Alejandro Amenábar, a six-episode miniseries of 45-minute episodes produced by Mod Producciones and AMC Studios. Young diplomat Álex Ventura teams with the combative public official Lucía Vallarta and a brilliant American lawyer, Jonas Pierce, to recover treasure stolen by Frank Wild, a globe-trotting plunderer who pulls historic objects out of the ocean. The engine is a race across borders, where each episode strips away a layer of official secrecy and forces the uneasy allies to trust people they cannot fully read. The story moves through diplomatic offices, hotel rooms and coastal locations, with a restless, cosmopolitan atmosphere and a steady pulse of suspense. Tone blends propulsive adventure with thriller tension and a grounded, adult seriousness. Themes of greed, national interest and the cost of recovering what was taken run beneath the chase. Fans of Sherlock and Fool Me Once will find resonance in its prestige European thriller polish, and viewers who enjoy Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark will recognise its treasure-hunt appetite. Its single season delivers a complete, self-contained arc with no cliffhanger.
