## Synopsis

Long Way Up (2020) is a British travel docuseries created by Ewan McGregor, Charley Boorman, David Alexanian and Russ Malkin for Apple TV. Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, longtime friends and motorcycling companions, serve as the principal travelers, with their production partners David Alexanian, Russ Malkin and Claudio von Planta appearing alongside them as the crew on the road. The engine of the series is a long overland expedition: the pair test prototype electric Harley-Davidson motorcycles across demanding terrain, and each episode is built around the practical challenges of range, rough roads, mechanical trouble and the logistics of moving through unfamiliar countries. Across a single eleven-episode season, the show moves through glorious landscapes of South and Central America, from mountain passes to coastal and jungle routes. It follows in the vein of Long Way Round and Long Way Down, sharing their celebrity road trip format and their easy camaraderie. The tone is warm, wistful and breezy, with moments of genuine awe at the scenery and quiet emotional pull in the friendship between the two riders. Fans of travel documentaries and motorcycle adventures will find the series a relaxed, scenic journey.
