## Synopsis

Matter of Respect (2014-2015) is a Turkish crime drama series created by Berkun Oya and Nuran Evren Şit for Kanal D. Yiğit Kılıç (Kerem Bürsin) carries the weight of a family that came to Istanbul from Ayvalik and was drawn into the orbit of a local mob. After his father's suicide, the pressure of that criminal world becomes personal, and Yiğit must navigate loyalty, debt and retribution while his household, led by Emir Kılıç (Şükrü Özyıldız) and Sibel Özer Kılıç (Yasemin Kay Allen), tries to hold together. The series is a single season of twenty-six long episodes, each running about two hours, and it plays out as one continuing story rather than a case of the week. Set in present-day Istanbul, it builds a heavy atmosphere of obligation and humiliation, where honor is both a shield and a trap. Its tone is intense, melodramatic and sorrowful, with family bonds pulled taut against the violence of the underworld. Fans of Gomorrah, Kara Para Aşk and The Godfather will find resonance in its portrait of a clan defending its name against organized crime.
