## Synopsis

I love you, Güero (2020-present) is a Mexican telenovela-style comedy series created by Kary Fajer for Las Estrellas and produced by Televisa. Itatí Cantoral plays Andrea Ibarrola, a scheming woman who leads a team of scammers, alongside Juan Soler as Tyler Sommers, the wealthy millionaire at the center of the plot, and Luis Roberto Guzmán as René Fajardo, one of the crew. The engine of the series is a con: the schemers devise an elaborate, deliberately funny plan to deceive Tyler while he searches for his biological mother, and every episode turns on the next complication, misdirection and near-miss that threatens to expose them. Supporting roles from Jacqueline Andere as Matilde Vda. de Salvatorre, Gala Montes as Katya and Rodrigo Abed as Gonzalo Heredia widen the cast into a melodramatic ensemble. Running as a single season of 127 episodes at roughly 45 minutes each, it is a long-form serialized story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is warm, breezy and heightened, with romance and family longing woven through the schemes. Set in contemporary Mexico, it fits the tradition of the Latin American telenovela. Fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, Ugly Betty and Mi Pobre Angelito will find resonance in its comic melodrama and class-crossing romance.
