## Synopsis

Mr. Queen (2020-2021) is a South Korean tvN romantic comedy series created by Park Kye-ok and Choi A-il, a single-season k-drama with twenty episodes. Modern chef Cheo-rin, played by Shin Hae-sun, suddenly finds herself trapped inside the body of Queen Cheo-rin in the Joseon dynasty, and her kitchen instincts and blunt modern manners throw the royal court into chaos. Kim Jung-hyun plays King Cheol-jong, the sovereign who must navigate this strange new queen, while Bae Jong-ok brings sharp dignity to Queen Sunwon, and Kim Tae-woo adds political tension as Kim Jwa-geun. The engine of the show is comic friction: a woman trying to survive rigid palace rituals and hostile factions while pursuing her own power and happiness in an unfamiliar body. Episodes are built around kitchen-driven mishaps, court intrigue and escalating romantic tension rather than a case of the week. Set in a Joseon-era palace, the series brings a witty, breezy and warmly comic register to a body swap premise, with flashes of palace power struggle. Viewers who enjoy The Moon Embracing the Sun and Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung will find a similar blend of historical court setting and romantic humor.
