## Synopsis

Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020) is a South Korean fantasy romance series created by Han Woo-ri for tvN. A television producer finds her ordinary life upended when she becomes entangled with a former deity who has spent centuries searching for his lost lover, a premise rooted in gumiho fox-spirit folklore. Lee Dong-wook plays Lee Yeon, the ancient figure at the center of the search, opposite Cho Bo-ah as Nam Ji-a, the modern heroine who gradually uncovers a secret supernatural world running alongside everyday Seoul. Kim Bum as Lee Rang adds a sibling rivalry that complicates every encounter, and Lee Tae-ri appears as Imugi. The engine of the story is a slow reconnection across lifetimes, with each episode mixing playful workplace comedy and mythic rivalries against a backdrop of ancient grudges and reincarnated bonds. The sixteen-episode run is a single continuing story rather than a case of the week. The tone is wistful and whimsical, with comedic warmth giving way to melancholy and an emotional undertow. Fans of Goblin and Dokkaebi will find resonance in its blend of Korean folklore, romantic longing, and light supernatural mystery, all wrapped in the familiar charm of a tvN drama.
