## Synopsis

Zombie Detective (2020) is a South Korean scripted mystery comedy created by Baek Eun-jin and Shim Jae-hyun and broadcast on KBS2 and wavve. Choi Jin-hyuk plays Kim Moo-Young, a zombie with no memory of his past who takes on the identity of a dead detective to uncover who he really was. Park Ju-hyun plays Kong Sun-Ji, an investigative journalist who quits her job while chasing the elusive Santa Killer case and ends up interning at Moo-Young's detective agency. Supporting roles include Hwang Bo-ra as Gong Sun-Young and Kwon Hwa-woon as Cha Do Hyun, rounding out a small team of misfits. The engine of the series is a pairing of an undead investigator and a determined reporter, each hiding something, as they chase clues through Seoul's streets and bureaucratic obstacles. Each hour-long episode mixes a self-contained case with threads about Moo-Young's identity. Told across twelve episodes in a single season, it is a complete, compact story with a clear arc. Its tone blends deadpan absurdity and gentle comedy with moments of eerie suspense and grisly imagery. Fans of iZombie, Moonlight and Lucifer will find resonance in its supernatural crime spin and quirky partnership.
